Going from plastic to porcelain toilet questions

We are thinking of trading our current MH for a 31 footer. Our Chateau has a porcelain toilet, which is great. One of the first things I would want to do if we get this other one, Tioga 31w SL, is change out the plastic toilet. Is this a fairly straight forward, swap, or it is something that should be done by an RV shop? Also, any porcelain brand recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the quick replies! I had no idea what brand/type is in our Chateau, but I found a pic of it on CampingWorld's site. Looks to be a Aqua Magic Style II and less than $200 shipped. It would be a significant upgrade I think.
Shop around, I bet you find it cheaper. I did.

  • Super easy replacement. The flanges are all the same and all you may have to do is adjust the length of the supply line or in some cases you have to install two more bolts into the wood floor.

If you have a door that swings over the toilet (like a shower door) be mindful of the over all height. After I installed ours the door cleared it by less than 1/4".
  • I agree with old guy. I bought a Thetford Aria and it bolted right up, nice and easy.

  • only two things you need to know. the toilet flange on the floor will fit and need to buy a hose to connect the toilet to water.
