We just got back a couple weeks ago. We took a cruise out of there. I recommend using the streetcars. Buy a daily pass for $3.00 a day. I wanted to tour the WWII museum but we didn't have time. I recommend going to Central Grocery on Decatur St. and getting a muffuletta sandwich, where the original was made. Most other restaurants in the area are expensive. Take the streetcar to the garden district and look at all the nice homes. We usually try to hit a local brewery wherever we go. If you like to also, try The Courtyard Brewery on Erato St. It's a little hole in the wall place but it was fun. We took the kids to Mardi Gras World where the floats are made and stored. That was pretty neat. You have to walk down Bourbon St. at least once. It seemed pretty dirty this time, maybe because we went after Mardi Gras by a couple days. Try one street over, Royal St. It's not as crazy as Bourbon but has some interesting things to see.
