Good Deal?

Long time lurker (about a decade), about to take the plunge. Have a deal (can still back out) on a 2013 Roadtrek at a bit more than 20% off what appears to be a not unduly inflated MSRP. Better deal than what one distant high volume dealer advertises, and better than what I was offered earlier in the year from more local dealers.

I'm looking to hold on to the RT for some time, so I'm not that worried about the quick depreciation hit from buying this late in the model year, but I wouldn't mind some feedback.

Thanks in advance.

  • If you're planning on keeping the RT for "some period of time", then, what does first year's, or any year's, depreciation matter?

Separately, while you may buy your home as an "investment" (though I've long thought that is not correct thinking for one's primary residence), I don't know anyone who buys any type of RV as an "investment".

They ALL cost money to buy, money to keep, money to operate, and money to maintain. But, at least in our case, it's worth what it costs.

If you're comfortable with the deal and the dealer, then ...

    Cheers.
