You can try to buy an in-wall hotel safe. They're generally big enough to handle a smallish laptop and certainly an iPad and a camera, etc.
The I'd lag bolt it to the inside of the closet of the floor if you have a closet deep enough, etc.
This may not stop them from getting to it, but doing this, plus a couple of receipts and photos to your insurance carrier may be enough to get you reimbursed a lot easier should a break in ever occur.
