Good Sams or FMCA Road side Assistance

Just got my notice from Good Sams to renew and was wondering if any one has information on the new FMCA program. Is it Coach Net with a new name or if not who is doing the towing. I got a year free with my new Winnebago 3 years ago . The price is the same 99.00 dollars.

  • CoachNet also covers all vehicles you own and will respond to any DESIGNATED camping area(private or government), whether it is sandy, grass, muddy, or paved.
If you decide to pull off in to some field and get stuck, they will still cover you for up to 100 feet from a paved road.
They have no limit on towing expense except that they will take you to the nearest facility that is capable of doing the repairs on your coach. If you decide you want a repair facility in another state, expect to pay extra no matter what ERS you chose.
The big advantage to CN is that they have a 27/7 phone number where you can talk to an EXPERT who may be able to take care of your problem over the phone. The other ERS providers will just send someone to your location because the person that answers the phone does not have any expertise to diagnose exactly what you need.
  • read the details, I decided on GS because it included all the vehicles I own. and also would come out if I had issue with utility trailer. I don't go far with it, but knowing if I had a problem, I could call them helped me feel better. Also read definitions of off road... and how far off paved road they will come. will they pull from sand when I am camping in parks with very sandy sites if I get stuck?
  • According to FMCA, their ERS plan is provided by "Vehicle Administrative Systems". In reading the details, I see there are some limits that could be of concern, particularly the $1,000 towing limit. Note too that Good Sam's ERS contractor is Allstate Motor Club, while Coach-Net is an ERS contractor themselves.
  • from reading all the horror stories on here about CW road service,, I bought CN.
