You have a lot of recalls on that coach. Hope they did all of them!...
Hey THANK YOU for the quality reply.
I see the OFFICIAL statement about the brakes,

Damon is recalling 2,415 motorhomes equipped with axles that include bosch zops or zoht pin slide hydraulic disc brakes. when combined with occasional or seasonal vehicle operation may experience calipers sticking in the applied position. this can result in abnormal heat generation at the wheel end causing brake drag.

That WORRIES me a bit. Do you realize how slow I was going? And, that I had possibly detected an ABS failure, NOT a hung caliper failure on first inspection? I kept hearing what sounded like electronic solenoid clicking (That was the as to why all the hopping.)
Without me personally having the caliper in hand, I can NOT prove to anyone, even myself, that the caliper was actually defective in any way.
I can easily see this as a liability battle between GM/Workhorse and Bosh.
Seasonal use also means possible battery drawn down to the ECM (electronic control modules) such as the Engine Control Module and the Brake Control Module (and no, I don't care if I have the most current accepted acronyms). I even have an earlier thread where I mentioned having a dead chassis battery for an extended period of time.
So, if the calipers were in fact good, as they seemed to be for the first few miles ... what do I do the next time if it these brakes fail?
I bet there is a statute of limiations on these sort of things and this was the cheapest way for GM/Workhorse to deal with the issue.
Oh, I almost forgot to tell you WHY. There is so much mass in the brake system, that if the fluid BOILING in my case, the fluid would have continued to BOIL for quite some time.
It was literally around 60 seconds before I had no brakes to slamming the parking/emergency brake and EVERYTHING changed.
The system did not have time to cool down; nor does it explain why the FRONT brakes (or cross diagonal) didn't work at all in my situation.
I bet the rabbit hole is deeper then most realize.
