Similar concept, but different implementation. I need a GPS that I can plug into the laptop and download waypoints, special POIs (like FlyingJ's), and routes from MapSource. So, I'm still using my old Garmin Zumo550 that I pulled off the motorcycle. Then I put one of those plastic mounting disks on the dash of the motorhome and the toad (and my truck as well). Then, I have a Zumo suction cup automotive mount attached to the disk in each vehicle:

The nice thing about that style mount is that it's hard-wired into the power supply, so I just pop the GPS into the mount and there's no need to mess with power cables, then hit the quick-release and pop it out and drop it into the next vehicle and again, no need to fiddle with anything. Plus, I was able to route the power cables under the dash so I don't have cable-clutter in the vehicles.
