I still find that Google Maps on my phone does a better job than any of my Garmin's and it's much more up to date with millions of POIs that don't even exist in my Garmin. Coming into St. Louis from the West yesterday Google took me across a new bridge and Garmin would have taken me 64 and across the old bridge which would have been a terrible mistake at 4pm on a weekday.
I also did a couple of checks of data usage over the last couple of days. On a trip of about 250 miles, Google Maps used only 7Mb and WAZE used about 15 Mb which is just a bit more than nothing. I had live data "everywhere" not just where the Garmin can receive the FM broadcast and I could speak to the phone and ask for truck stops along the route or where the next rest area was. I "can" do that with the Garmin but it's much or difficult and much less accurate.
When I left Salina, KS yesterday I opened Google Maps, touched the microphone and said "Casino Queen, St. Louis" It showed Casino Queen and Casino Queen RV park as options. RV Park it is, thanks Google!
