First time to drive any significant distance. Planning to visit Grand Canyon Railway Park staying a few days then proceeding from GC to Malibu Beach RV California in ONE DAY...Seems like a lot of mile...

Don't worry about the 55 speed limit while towing, I set the cruise at 65 towing, and have never left the state. The CHP really doesn't pay attention to anyone doing the 65 speed limit when most are flying by you 80 anyway.
Try hitting the riverside area around 10-11 am and it should be mostly easy cruising to malibu, avoid anytime after 3:00 til 7:30
