gulf stream coaches

just found a list for an 06 conquest. Does anyone have any info on these units? Has a diesel which could be good/bad so will have to go look. Test drove one this weekend and its performance was underwhelming so will have to eval this one as a comparison.

Any info will be appreciated. Also do these cutaway van chassis models have provisions for brake controllers?

  • I have a 6.0 Diesel. Motorhome and ambulance motors are different than pickups.
Dirty oil can effect engine performance on a diesel motor. Supposed to have problems corrected in 6.0 Diesels by 2006 year. I don't know what is different about ambulance motors. No problems yet. They have 2 fuel filters that need changing on schedule!

Just about as soon as you start a diesel the oil is dirty (black)
  • was a lexington with 6.0 diesel, 26 ft. Whoever owned was 1. not a good driver (many small dings etc), 2. didn't appear to perform maintenance as oil dirty.

now need to know which engine you have in yours jdog?

    1. "test drove one this weekend". Test drove one what with what motor?

2."performance was underwhelming" compared to what with same length and weight?

I have some info on these units since I have a 30 ft. 2007 E-450 Ford Gulfstream Yellowstone Cruiser with a diesel. The 2007 motorhome is on a Ford 2006 E-450 chassis. Engine is 2006. I get 11 mpg. Great for going up and down steep grades. I also tow a car behind it. No smog checks are required. No mods have been done to motor.
