Ford Class C:
305 Horsepower, 420 lbs. ft. torque
Chevy Class C:
323 Horsepower, 373 torque
Not enough difference there to get excited about, IMO.
Also, the 5 speed Chevy transmission on the 2005 we had was much better geared and programmed for motorhome loads & driving than the Ford seems to be, judging by the comments from Ford owners over the years.
Finally, the Chevys seem to get about 1 MPG better than the Fords. Which doesn't sound like much but it is 10-15% better.
Both powertrains are good and proven, and the Chevy works fine, as does the Ford. I am not brand loyal, but the 2005 worked so well, when we bought new in 2014 I made sure to buy another Chevy.
