on my old 5th wheel I had a 50amp with a locking device and the connection on the trailer was hidden ( not on the outside ) on my MH the cable attaches to the outside and to steal the whole cable and surge protector wouldn't be to hard. I have not had anything stolen from me over the years, but I didnt have a $250 piece of equip just hanging out there
