To the OP, set the dash heater on defrost--the heat will go over your head to the rear of the RV.

Use an oil filled heater. No risk of fire.
I run some electric heating via the inverter, and have in the distant past run a generator to power them. Why? Because where I RV propane for filling a class C is often only available in small to large cities--and not at all in small towns.
