I'll just add: if the dogs are crated below a window - cut a sheet of Reflectix (like bubble-wrap with foil on both sides) big enough to cover not only the window, but the frame, too; and then hold it in place with the shade. Should cut way down on cold drafts rolling off the window and un-insulated frame.
I already have Reflectix for ALL my windows, which I mostly did to try to keep the rig cool in the summer, but when camping a couple of weeks ago in sub-freezing temps, I discovered how well it works in cold weather too. Really made the rig snug overnight. I haven't used it while driving (I'm pretty new to MH driving, and like being able to see out the windows), but I may do this. The crates are on the dinette, and back right up to the biggest window in the camper.
