This is my first RV, so I did a lot of research/reading about the "propane underway" issue. I didn't want to do it, but found that I was unable to keep my 2-way refrigerator safely cold while traveling in warm weather. By the end of the day, even with one of those refrigerator fans and several big blue ice packs, the temperature in the fridge was hovering around 50 degrees--not acceptable. So, I sucked it up and started traveling with the propane on. The natural progression from there was to drive with the furnace on, but I do have this little voice in the back of my head that worries about fire in the event of a traffic accident ...
So, since I am someone who is generally a bit paranoid about safety issues, perhaps I should just start traveling with the generator on instead and use a safely-secured space heater if it's too cold for the dogs. For some reason, my newbie mind is resisting the driving with the generator plan, not sure why ...
Anyway, thanks for all the good input--much appreciated!
