Heater core replacement

Last Saturday on our way to visit ronfisherman and his wife my heater core sprung a leak about 15 miles from his house. We did a quick fix in the parking lot and proceed to his house. I took it apart on Monday and the part arrived on Wednesday afternoon. Got back together Thursday morning. Hardest part is taking the hoses off and on at the fire wall. The core comes out in the passenger compartment and you have to cut along the top of the heater box with a utility knife to get the core out.

I would like to thank ronfisherman and his wife for all of their help and hospitality. Thank you.

Jeff

  • on a p30 chassie remove the passenger seat and the lower dash trim panel youll see a black box with two panels the heater core is the top one but you have to remove both. slide the ac condenser out about 3 inches, remove the hold down bracket for the heater core, with a long screwdriver loosen hose clamps and use a long 3/4 open wrench to unscrew the two hose nipples from the core. the thing just slides right out. ww
