I am unable to climb atop in order to measure it myself so I was wondering if anyone knows what the height of a class C is from ground to the top of the AC unit? I want to avoid the calamity of a low bridge. Thanks for any info.
What I do to measure mine is first get it parked level, then climb up on a ladder alongside our Class C and balance a long pole on top of the air conditioner that is long enough to stick out a little past each side, so that the pole stays balanced and level on top of the air conditioner.
Then I stand on the ground and measure the height up to the pole ... this should be very, very close (within maybe an inch or closer) to the actual height of the tallest point (the air conditioner) of your Class C. This is one easy way to determine the actual height - I wouldn't believe what any "specs" of you Class C might say as provided or published by it's manufacturer.
Our Itasca Class C is about 11'3" high to the top of it's air conditioner. This is higher than Ron's very low Class C, which is primarily due to: 1) Ours being a "basement" design Class C with nice tall outside storage cabinets and even cross-wise storage under the floor between the truck frame and the floor, for storing fishing poles, shovels, beach umbrellas, etc., 2) Ours being on the Ford E450 chassis, which normally sits about an inch higher than the E350 chassis, and 3) Ours has non-stock tires on it that are about 0.6 inches taller for slightly improved overall ground clearance.
Looking at the photo of your Class C it looks to be closer to the height of ours, rather than that of very low Class Cs like Ron's Class C. I have software installed in our Garmin navigator unit that warns us as we approach any overpass or bridge, anywhere in the U.S., lower than whatever I set for a height in the software. I currently have the software set for 12 feet or lower. I of course will go under overpasses or bridges lower than 12 feet, but at least I get a warning ahead of time so that I can slow way up and proceed with extreme caution.
