I've had 2 slides fail this past year. The main kitchen slide was a real pain to get back in.
Needed 2- 1 1/4 wrenches to release the lock nut and then 3 very strong men to manually push it in. It needed a new controller and a small plsatic gear in the gearcase. Why Newmar woiuld use 1 plastic gear against steel gears is STUPID! The bedroom slide fortunatley quit while in (although it was day 1 of a 3 wk. vacation). The main steel shaft snapped in 2. Newmar was good about getting me the right parts to fix it. But it was a tough job to repair.
Slides and jacks are the 2 things that have given me trouble. Those slides are heavy and the sytems used for them are undersized IMO.
