Help needed - plexiglass inserts for door

Had plexiglass inserts cut for our screen door. Having difficulty keeping them in place. Small tabs originally used keep coming loose/falling out. Difficulty seems to be with the very short screws used - seems hard to find a place to anchor anything. Any suggestions on how to best keep these inserts in place? Thanks.

I used mirror clips too for the plexi, but on our new MH, I decided to use eisenglass ( clear plastic vinyl used on boat canvas for windows). Unlike the plexiglass, it doesn't rattle and is easy to store by rolling it up. It's held on with Velcro
  • We use mirror clips and small screws to hold the plexi-glass. That way we can easily remove and clean and even leave open during nice days.
  • Hi--we have had plexglas inserts in all of our motorhomes over the last 25 years. You want to be able to take them out so I don't think silicone is such a great idea. Keeping the in depends on the structure of your screen door. If there is a lip on the door, we have found that door edge guards which are sold for protecting your cars door when contacting something. You slip the protector over the edge while holding the plexi in place. Another solution we find works well is using curtain tension rods which push against the door edges and keeps the plexi from moving. We have used Velcro, double-faced tape, drilled the door and installed turnbuckles, etc. The trick is to be creative and see what works for your installation.
