Help needed 2015 Forester 3171 dead (anti theft activated)

Might be wrong here but, isn't towing a vehicle with an automatic transmission with the drive wheels down bad for it? used to be it would burn up seals in the transmission. Maybe a motohome is different....don't know how they would tow it otherwise but....was just wondering. Hope the situation is resolved quickly so you can get back to enjoying your coach.
