Hercules Tires

Needing to replace the tires on my class A. Currently have michelin's on there. Gave me an option for

HERCULES H902 WHICH IS A CHEAPER TIRE $342.21 EACH
6 OUT THE DOOR WOULD BE $2373.22

Anyone running these tires and do you like them. The Michelins are twice the price
  • I have had Hercules Tires on two Motorhomes and they were great
  • Simple answer is there are only two companies that manufacture tires specifically for RVs...Goodyear and Michelin. The other tires are truck tires. The main difference are truck tires have stiffer sidewalls. This gives you longer life and a stiffer ride. Some folks like the handling characteristics of the truck tires over the softer ride of the RV tires. The choice is yours. My opinion is that RV tires have compounds in them to protect the life of the tires while sitting. If you drive your coach like a truck, use truck tires.

I have Michelins on the steer axle and Goodyears on the drive and tag axles.....Dennis

I did a lot of research and found lots of positive reviews. There were a few negative comments but all were from people that had no real experiance with the H902 but were prepared to offer a comment.
Very common on most tire threads, especially from the Michelin crowd who think that everyone is as rich as the imagine themselves to be.

I am not running Hercules, but know some that are and they are ALL giving the tire a good review. I do plan to try the Samson as my next tire. I did some research with them and the trucking industry is giving them very high marks. Price I got on 275/70R22.5 was $375 out the door, $200 less than Michelin and $275 less than Goodyear.
  • I just bought two Hercules H902 245/70 19.5 today as I plan to replace the steer tires. They are not installed yet as first available appointment is Tuesday.

Heavy tire, steel casing 14 ply. Build date is 0913 so they are fresh! There is a local construction truck rental agency here that runs Hercules on thier fleet of heavy trucks and they are happy with the results.

My experiance, other than buying them and bring them home is zero but for the price, $230.00 each, even if I have to replace them every five years I am still in the good! Based on the price you found I expect your tires are 22.5.

If my experiance is positive then I plan to buy two per year for the following 2 years and then all six will be replaced.
