- wnytaxmanExplorerWhen we look at the possibilities of getting out in a hurry in the event of a fire, then the emergency exit door is huge. A standard is that in the event of a fire you would have 30 seconds to get out. Could you open the window, prop it, and safely drop to the ground in that length of time? I don't think I could and I know my in-laws who often travel with us would not be able to do that.

We went this year again. It's about a five hour drive each way for us so we headed out at 4:30 AM and back home for dinner. I really liked the changes Newmar made to their coaches. Steerable tag axle and an actual emergency exit door instead of the window. That alone would push me to Newmar over other brands.
We were also at the show and our primary goal was to tour the Newmars and the Entegras. Well, the Entegra's won for us. Especially the Anthem 44B.
I not too sure I like the escape door. They sit behind the toilet and the door looks kinda funky from the outside. For us, this was a turn-off......Just sayin.

Oh...
Anyone know of any good discounts?
Half-price admission on Wednesday for 55+. There's also a $1 off coupon on the show's web site.
Also, here's a list of this year's Seminars and Speakers.
Bob and Cheryl Marx are fun, Bunzer is usually entertaining and informative and Walter Cannon gives really good safety talks.
OK so I went on Wednesday - only looked at the high End class A's
WHY do they spread all the stuff so FAR apart??????????????
Just walking around to the 15 or 20 Coaches takes all day!
I'm sure they are much smarter than I am, but to not organize the show into Categories is IMHO just STUPID.
Can you imagine how much more productive, easy, smart?, it would be to just make it like the rest of the commercial world, just think, looking at the two coaches you are interested in and not having to spend 45 minutes finding the other Coach/TT/5th you are looking at,
you might actually stay and select your RV.
Show only shows you a lot of products and just takes too long for the serious buyer, to find anything -
JMHO, - MilesandSmilesExplorerI can already tell that we haven't budgeted enough time!
Both of Bob and Cheryl's talks sound like they are "can't miss" for us. Unfortunately, due to driving time, we'll have to save the "Choosing an RV" seminar until our second day.
If you see a happy but completely bewildered couple in their late 50s walking around, it just might be us! - GMandJMExplorer

Anyone know of any good discounts? - MilesandSmilesExplorerMy wife and I are headed over from New Jersey and will be there most of Thursday and Friday. This is our first big RV show, and we're in full-on learning mode with the hope of buying a Class-A and hitting the road just about full-time two years from now.
It's also a good excuse to get away from our teens for a couple of days!
Why two years? That's when we get the last kid INTO college. We don't want to pull up stakes until they finish at their High School. After that, when they are on a break they can come find us! - Bea_PAExplorerWe are going and spending the evening and possibly the night at the casino. Sure don't need anything, still have toys from the Adventurer and Journey.
