On my Monaco, which may or may not be the same slide mechanism as yours, I have two motors and gear tracks for my slides. On the motors there is a lever to engage or disengage the gears. Disengaging the gears is how you would manually retract the slide if the motor fails.
In any case, perhaps you could disengage ONE of the gear motors, move the slide manually to align it with the other side, and then engage the gears again.
On my coach it takes a 3/4" wrench to manually move the slide.
