Years ago I had that same slide (Powergear) that slid out..but only about 2 inches. Noticable in the mirror....called my dealer and he said something like bring it up...but 2 inches or so will be the max it will slide out on its' own. He seemed to be right. Something in the motor. Fixed. Never happened again.
