Hot water heater
Hello I have a 1996 Monaco Dynasty. Does anyone know the steps to turning on the hot water heater using electrical while on shore power and also steps using propane? Thank you in advance.

If you have an Atwood there is a switch located on the back of the water heater. Because mine is not very accessible I just leave it on so whenever I have shore power it comes right on. My water heater can run both electric and propane at the same time.
Only IF.....IF the Atwood is a 2003 Year or previous years model
Design change 2004...no on/off switch at rear of WH.
On/Off for electric moved to a dual panel for wall installation.

Your water heaters don't heat hot water? I've never had one that doesn't, unless it's broke. Of course they start by heating cold water, but once the water is hot my water keeps it hot by continually heating the "hot water" to make it hotter. Sorry, couldn't resist pointing that out.
110*F water is not hot...that is the temp RV water heaters start reheating so water heater actually heats warm water into hot water
Once it's hot heating is stopped until again warm
My hot tub water isn't that hot and yet they don't call it a warm tub.
Now how many 'warm tubs' do you think they could sell......

- Actually, you're not heating hot water, You're either heating cold water or you're RE-HEATING hot water. That would make it a Water Reheater wouldn't it??? :h.....Dennis

- On our Monaco Monarch, there is a switch to turn the electric on inside. Ours is in the bathroom by the level monitors on the wall. The gas switch is in the bottom portion of the monitor panel where there is also a "test" switch to see all the levels and the pump switch.
- Seein gas you have a Suburban Furnace then you would have a Suburban water heater (vs an Atwood)
Suburban WH has an ON/OFF Switch for Electric Element in outside compartment lower left corner
On/Off Switch inside is for the Propane
Fill WH Tank........open hotside of any faucet to bleed air out of system
When tank/hot system is filled (air bleed out of line)
You can turn electric on via outside switch provided you have 120V AC Power
You can turn on propane via inside switch provided you have propane and 12V DC Power
You can turn them both on for 'fastest' recovery
