I've placed two orders with SD. First one was for front and rear Hellwig bars for E450. I called with a question that they answered promptly and accurately. Then I placed the order on-line and the bars arrived promptly. I can't say it was a "couple days" but that wasn't advertised or promised.
This was a few years ago, but I know for sure the two bars actually came direct from Hellwig. "Drop Shipment" or whatever they call it. That made sense, and Hellwig is probably one of those companies that doesn't sell direct to final user but uses outfits like SD as what I'll call an "agent." Completely satisfactory ordering and shipping process, though.
Second order... I wanted Super Springs for the front of the E450. Delay Delay Delay... After a series of inquiries, it came out that the plant, also in California, makes them only in batches/and/or "to order." Whatever the reason, SD convinced me the supplier was the problem, and checked a couple times to see what mfr. status was. I finally cancelled and put AirLift bags in my existing springs instead.
I see potential irony here. Competence of the Chevy chassis could be working against us here. Best I can tell this OP is the first one placing an order for a sway bar that was Non-Ford. It's possible Hellwig has the common bars at their fingertips but doesn't produce others for inventory.
Please let us know what SD does for you. I think they'll make it right. This "agent" arrangement puts outfits like them in a bind. Unless they can access mfr's inventory and scheduling, their delivery promise can likely end up empty.
