Jerry, you might want to click on "How I tow" below. I looked at buying your vintage Beaver (had a 98 Patriot) so I know a lot about CCC, GVWR axle weights. The only reason you have 3K of CCC is because Beaver put a 23K rear axle instead of the normal 20K axle (max legal weight in most states) SO, there is NO way you'll be able to put a lift on the back of your rig. That much weight that far back is going to put more than 1700+ lbs on your already maxed out rear axle..... Sorry and it's the main reason I bought a tag axle coach.
Fortunately you do have a 10K hitch so putting them on a trailer is your best option over a dolly that will haul both because you'll be able to back the trailer up... not the dolly. I no longer wory about where I go as it's easy to back up because of the long rear overhang.
