Actually, your MPG probably won't be much worse than your Excursion when towing.
I went from pulling a 26' TT with an Expedition to a 31' Class A, and actually feel more comfortable driving through town at times than I do on the freeway (I live in the Los Angeles area). You just have to remember to swing wider than you normally do when you turn right.
