How do I adjust my slide?

I have a 2004 minnie winnie and when I close the slide the top is extremely tight but there is a 1/2" gap at the bottom of the slide.

Does anyone know of a video or write-up on what bolts I adjust to correct this issue?

Thanks

  • It sounds ike it's working right by pulling the top in first but just needs a little adj. to get it all the way in.
IF it's a rack and pinion (Not hyd) you should be able to see a thing that looks like a elongated gold bell laying on it's side at one end of the slide. This is what tells the slide when to stop coming in. Loosen its jamb-nut and turn the "bell" by hand 2 or 3 revolutions toward the outside of the slide. Tighten jamb-nut and check op.

  • The top is supposed to close up first, then the bottom pulls in. This is because the slide is driven from the bottom. Sounds like the slide motor is quitting too soon, or you are quitting too soon, on retraction.

If it is the motor stopping while you are holding the "close" button, then probably all that is needed is to find and adjust the limit switch.

If you have the screw-jack slide mechanism (likely for 2004) you have two slide motors that need to coordinate their movement, and there is a slip clutch on each of the two motors that starts slipping as torque rises at end of movement. A weak clutch could cause the problem you are having.
