How do you fix something that won't stay broken?

We have a 1994 Fleetwood Tioga on a Ford E350 chassis. I've always been amazed how trouble free and efficient the hot water heater is. Lately it's been sporadic when lighting. A couple of weeks ago...

If it is a Suburban then it is likely one of the 2 solenoid coils going intermittent. They are identical 12 VDC Coils at about 40 ohms each.
