Whack-a-mole time.
I replaced the gas line solenoid yesterday.
While chasing down the parasitic draw I was led there.
There is a 14ga lead on the house battery ground that was hot.
The only problem I had was getting it out as it was adjacent to a heat shield.
One of the leads was scorched and it had 24 years of road grime so it needed to go.
After the swap the converter fan turned itself off and the W/H fired right up.
Voila'!
I went back to the RV a few hours later and the fan was back on- grrrr.
I tried the W/H and nothing, nada zilch!
The fact that it was 95 out didn't help but I don't believe it was the cause.
So I'll call the company Old-Biscuit referred me to Monday and get a new circuit board and cover.
