While that makes sense, did you see that written in the owner's manual-- that will have Honda's "official answer"?
Decisions on towablity are sometimes made for other than mechanical reasons-- VW manual transmissions being a good example of a company that denies towability for vehicles that many people tow. Same for Mazda. For years Ford and Mazda sold exactly the same models-- Ford said towable, Mazda not.
Would hate for someone to buy a brand new vehicle and have warranty denial issues down the road.
