In California I drive 55 mph as that is the speed limit for vehicles towing (Trucks too). I will move up to 60 mph as I feel comfortable at that speed if the speed limit is 65-70mph.
When the speed limit is 80 mph in Texas, I will go about 70 as our coach can do that all day long and not skip a beat. But, I really like to mosey along at 60 when safe.
We weigh 55,500 lbs so I'm not in this for the gas mileage but at 55-60 mph I can easily get 6.8-7.0 mpg, 65mph=6.5mpg, 70mph=6.0mpg. These are on virtually flat surfaces. Add hills and knock off 1 mpg.
And, I really don't know that sweet spot on our coach that people have mentioned about theirs.
Safe travels,
MM.
