They do it at their own peril. We don't stop or steer as well as most other vehicles. I noticed the how well the brakes worked on a Honda Accord trying to squeeze between me and a semi yesterday.
On speed, mine is an antique with a 3-speed transmission. No speed seems to yield an optimum fuel economy. But 55 feels good, 60 feels sketchy, and 65 seems to be its sweet spot. The 454 will deliver the same, flat torque curve until the engine explodes so I try to keep it 65 or under.
