There are some limitations in the data, such as some of the data involves traffic congestion. No information presented indicates that the right lane is safer to anyone.

Ninja Edit: While it does say low speed drivers are more likely to be involved in crashes, the low speed data is polluted by traffic congestion.
I agree that the data doesn't support that the right lane is safer to anyone, but my experience has been that driving an RV at or under the limit in the left lane causes irrational and often dangerous behavior among other drivers. I chill in the right lane and haven't had any trouble.
