Well, goodness, this is such a personal question (smile)...
Once we switched from the travel trailer to a motorhome, we decided that the trip was at least as much fun as the destination. The V10 seems happy at under 58 mph, and gets about 10 mpg at the slower speeds.
So we leave our home in West Virginia about 9:00 AM, and immediately stop at sheetz :) to top off the tank, and get coffee, biscuits and muffins for the trip. Then it's off to Florida.
No real agenda except have a safe and relaxed trip... Now that US 23 is four lanes all the way to Ashville, we use that as it's scenic, relaxed, and free! Stop the first night in Hendersonville NC (6.5 hours). On down 26 to 95 and stop at Kingsland GA (Country Oaks Campground). Arrive in Boca Raton, FL early the next afternoon.
We decided that traveling in a motorhome kind of forced us to "stop and smell the roses". Taking our time is pure joy, safer, and uses a lot less gas. A win - win for us....
Happy and safe camping!
