I have an 02 Journey DL with that engine in it with 96000 miles. No problems whatsoever as they are just about bullet proof. We did the standard valve train settings at 50000 and will run the valves again at 100000. Change the oil every 5000 miles and it will last forever.
I also have a Freightliner Toterhome with that same 3126 engine in it. It has well over 600,000 miles with regular service work performed and has had zero issues (and it has not been rebuilt either/passes all compression tests). And let me tell you, pulling a big stacker trailer all over the east coast, that thing has been abused getting from race to race during the night but has never failed. I want to see if it gets to 1,000,000 before needing a rebuild!
There has been various configurations of the 3126 engine and I would not be afraid to purchase one.
