I thought it was about triple. I will go back and look at the numbers.
There is a lot of variety and options. I've mostly looking at the options by Starlight Solar and AM Solar.
In my case, I have 230 Ah of usable capacity with lead-acid (460 Ah total = $440 (recently replaced)). I would need a lithium bank that is about 300 Ah (total) to replace my existing usable capacity.
Starlight Solar has a 300 Ah package listed at $2,732.00 and a 400 Ah package listed at 3,456.60.
AM Solar does not have a 300 Ah package but they do have a 400 Ah (LiFePO4) that is listed at $4,999.00.
I have not studied these enough to know exactly what the differences are. Just looking at the raw numbers, the 300 Ah package is about 6 times the cost of my current batteries. The 400 Ah is about 8 times the cost. The AM Solar 400 Ah is 11 times the cost. I would expect some shipping plus "miscellaneous" costs to be added to that.
If anyone here would like to see some real world tests with any of this equipment, I would be glad to do it. Go ahead and order the kit and have it sent to me. I'll report back in 2-3 years. :B
