I have an older (1998) C 29 foot bunkhouse with the double dinette floorplan and no slides. It has about 2000 pounds of CCC, but when loaded with family, food, water, beer, etc I was getting close to max on the rear axle. The rear axle weight is really the one to watch, because EVERYTHING you put inside the rig adds weight to the rear axle. Items placed behind the rear axle actually add more than their weight to the axle. The 31-32 foot Cs with slides are really heavy and very difficult to not overload unless you travel light.
As far as towing, I towed 3 different small cars weighing 2600-3200 pounds and even with an older V10 with "only" 265 hp I had what I felt was adequate power.
On edit I thought I'd add that I have an E-Super Duty (later called the E450) with 14050 GVWR and 9450 RGAWR.
