While it is true the ride is possibly better, the weight capacity I believe is some what lower on the Chevy. The 4500 series of Chevy is 14,200 gvw
The Ford E-450 cut away is generally 14,500 lbs. I'm at 14,308 fully loaded. I was overloaded for my tires (but not the axles) and so replaced the wheels and tires last summer going to 235/85r16 to correct that.
