Not necessarily, my 2012 E-350 has 3,368# of payload and few if any E-450's can top that. My Gvwr is 11,500 and fully loaded (one third in all 3 tanks), tools, toys,firewood and the backup Honda 2,000 we scaled out at 10,050# leaving nearly 1,500# of additional, available payload.
The ride is smoother and with the 4:10 rear end I get better mileage than an E-450. Going with a 24' C has a lot of advantages if you like the floorplan and good CCC with room to spare is just one of them.
