We didn't think we would utilize our onboard Onan much, but since we mostly camp off the beaten path and off the power grid we average over 100 hours per year. We do camp at times in extreme temps and the Onan easily runs our entire rig as if we were hooked to shore power. Running AC, or a couple of space heaters, microwave, and heated hair appliances are main reasons for genny use, along with a couple of hours every other day for recharging depleted batteries.
My DW wouldn't go camping if it were to go down, alas that is not the case as it purrs happily along when getting the opportunity to serve it's purpose. Thus far we have 800+ hours over 7 camping seasons, I just perform basic maintenance yearly and use Stabil when adding gas along with an occasional bottle of Seafoam to help keep fuel system issues at bay.
