We have the Onan 2800. We have not used it very much for actual camping but have used it in emergencies - we sat out two blackouts for days and more than a week after hurricanes (at home) in the Class B with the generator running to give us light and television - plus the microwave and the A/C. We use it when we stop for lunch along the way on a trip to run the A/C on hot days. And while we usually stop at campgrounds with hookups, if we are stuck we can spend the night with the generator at one of the places that permit overnighting. Yes, it can be noisy. I would rather have the noise and be able to be cool on a hot night running the A/C with the generator.
