When state parks are available with electricity, they are our preferred camping locations. However, many of these camping sites are reserved months in advance and have no vacancies when we decide to go camping.
The Onan 2800 generator gives us the freedom to go touring just about anywhere, or camping on short notice and not have to worry about finding a campsite with electricity.
We frequently camp in forest service campgrounds, county parks, reststops, BLM campsights, etc., most of which have no electricity, which would not be possible without a generator.
In response to the question being asked, we use our generator on at least 50% of our outings.
