Onan 2800 in our RT used almost every trip - certainly on long (cross-country) roadtrips - primarily for microwave when Wally-docking/Flying J's, etc. - Would not be convenient to drag out a free-standing genny, plug in the van, etc, just to heat up dinner while in a rest area or parking lot. 2nd use is A/C - never needed to run it all night - often during heat of day when restocking at grocery store, etc., when dash air is off since van engine not running... Have parked in back corner of parking lot at various attractions and let genny run for several hours to keep van cool for dogs on occasion (can recall maybe 3 or 4 times over 10 years, 80K miles of travel). 3rd use is to prevent van engine overload while climbing hills in scorching heat - turn off dash air, fire up genny to run coach A/C - best of both worlds - try THAT with a Honda! Never used Gen-Turi - just make sure my van windows are closed over genny exhaust. Do have carbon monoxide detector with digital readout mounted near that window - have never seen a positive reading on it due to running the Onan. Will run it to charge batteries if stationary for several days, do hate the noise it makes but CG neighbors seem to be doing the same thing so we all just live with it for those few hours when it is allowed. Have just added 100 watts of solar so hopefully need to recharge will be greatly reduced. Hope that helps! ST
