With our current B we have camped over a years worth of nights, traveled over 63,000 miles and have 13.9 hours on the generator. Most of those hours are testing and exercising before heading out on a trip or 15 minute bursts to brew coffee. Our next B will not have a generator.
Keep in mind this is a B question. We tour and drive almost daily when on the road. That is the advantage. If you park and stay you really ought to be considering bigger RVs where a generator might be more useful and practical. But then you would probably always seek an electrical site. Catch 22.
With advances in batteries, intelligent inverter/chargers, solar, etc. I am pretty sure that route will pan out better especially in the quest for quiet, remote wilderness sites where a generator would be an absolute anathema.
