How often do you change your differential oil?

I changed mine about 18,000 miles ago ( 4 years) to a semi synthetic 75-90 from a 85-140 because I live in colder climates. What frequency do you change your oil? The truck garage I go to says the ...

I purchased mine used last year with zero service records. It had 65k on it and I'm sure it was never changed. Changed it this year looked like new also. Not sure when I will change it again. Hate that smell.
