With a nicely designed solar system the only reason to have a generator is to run the roof air.
I've driven 250,000 kilometers (156,250 miles) over 12 years and have used a generator about 200 hours in total. I did go for 4 years on my new-to-me better solar equipped rv without a generator at all.
If I were starting over with solar panels so low in price it would be possible to have enough solar to run my 13500 roof air.
