I wonder if the Access is heavily discounted and hard to sell because it has no genset.
I wonder how much it would cost to put a genset in the Access. See where I'm going with this? :)
I would want a genset. We use ours. However as Pianotuna said, you can run anything in the coach without a genset, except the AC, if you have a good battery bank, inverter, and solar system, AND have the sunshine to charge it. The space where the genset is supposed to be should be able to house 4 more batteries. A person can do a lot with 4 more batteries. It would be fun to try. Although I'd probably still want to stow a Honda 2000 generator somewhere.
If I bought the Access, the first thing I'd try is living with a Honda 2000. It would not be push-button convenient, but it'd be worth a shot. They are easy to sell at a small loss on Craigslist.
As to running AC during an overnight stop, we have not done that. I would rather pay for an electric site. The genset uses probably $3 in gas per hour. It wouldn't take long to pay for the hookup site, and have the bonuses that come with it.
