I consider insurance, extended warranties and convenience almost one and the same at times. You may never need them but it is great when you do. I bought a portable 3500 genny years ago for home use but began to drag it along with the ROO for 14 day adventures at CGs that during summer storms had power issues. Never had to use it while camping. At home the portable has been used frequently and since I bought the MH, I have been without power two full weeks during natural disasters. Having a genny in the MH has always made me more comfortable if/when it is needed. Although I have not had an exigent need to use it on the road I have considered having AC power on demand for repairs or convenience is worth it. And moving to the MH at home during serious power outages and storms at Oh-dark-thirty is great.
